Nicola Cooper

Nicola Cooper was born in Cambridgeshire and read Law at the University of Leicester before completing her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, York. She joined Ware and Kay in April 2006 as a paralegal before completing her training contract with the firm. She qualified into the Company and Commercial Department in January 2009.

In her spare time Nicola enjoys travel, snow-boarding and reading.

Penny Eedle

Penny Eedle qualified as a solicitor in 1984 and moved to York in 1986. Initially, she concentrated on commercial property work but moved on to domestic conveyancing, which is the area in which she now specialises.

For relaxation, she enjoys gardening, furniture restoration and music.

David Kershaw

David has been a solicitor for over 22 years and gained valuable experience in general practice while managing a branch office of a Leeds firm for 10 years. David returned to work in York in 1999, specialising in residential and commercial conveyancing and joined Ware & Kay LLP in 2004.

He is a keen cyclist, runner and swimmer and plays tennis and badminton regularly.

Catherine Leftwich

After graduating in 2000, Catherine completed her legal studies at the College of Law in York and joined Ware & Kay in 2004. Since qualifying as a Solicitor in July 2007, Catherine has continued her work in residential and commercial property.

In her spare time she enjoys fell and mountain trekking and cycling.

Janine Nelson

Janine qualified as a solicitor in 2000. Having worked in a number of firms in Leeds, Janine became a lecturer in property and land law at the College of Law in York. She then worked as in-house commercial lawyer for West Yorkshire Police, joining Ware & Kay in July 2007 as a commercial property lawyer.

Janine is married with two teenage boys and spends her time walking her golden retriever, going to the gym and socialising with friends.

Clare Presley

Clare completed her degree in Sociology in 1996. After working in account management for graphic design companies in Leeds, she returned to education and completed a Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practise course at Leeds Metropolitan University. She joined Ware & Kay in 2005 and after qualifying joined the Wills and Probate department at the York office.

In her spare time she enjoys hill walking, keeping fit, swimming, reading and yoga.

Harriet Reid

Harriet is a law graduate. She qualified as a solicitor in 1993. Since qualification Harriet has specialized in Matrimonial and Family Law. Between 1991 and 2000 she worked in Reading, before joining Parrott & Coales LLP in Aylesbury as Head of their Family Department, becoming a Partner in 2001.

Returning to her native York in 2006, Harriet joined Ware & Kay’s Family team in York between 2007 and 2008, providing maternity cover. In April 2009 Harriet joined the Family Department in Ware & Kay's Wetherby office.

Harriet is married with three children, two dogs and a pony and in her spare time enjoys walking, riding and running. She took part in the 2009 Great North Run in aid of Martin House Hospice, a local Wetherby Charity.

Holly Stevens

Holly did her degree of Law and Psychology in Northampton and completed her legal practice course at Leeds Metropolitan University. Holly joined the firm in 2002 and qualified in March 2003 specialising in residential conveyancing.

Holly is married with 2 children and in her spare time enjoys travel, cinema and reading. She is currently on adoption leave but plans to return to the office in 2011.

Gill Wilkinson

Gill Wilkinson has been a part of the team at Ware and Kay since July 2005. Originally from Lancashire, she gained a degree in Hispanic Studies at Liverpool University and lived in Seville for a year. She speaks fluent Spanish.

On graduating, Gill ran her own business for over ten years, gaining valuable management experience. Gill completed both the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Certificate at the College of Law in York. She completed her training contract with Ware & Kay where she is now a solicitor in the employment team. Gill advises on all aspects of employment law for both employees and employers and has a particular interest in discrimination cases.

Gill is married with two children and enjoys running, cycling and swimming.
