York Ware & Kay Solicitors is celebrating two senior appointments within Yorkshire’s legal community, with Managing Director David Hyams appointed Vice President of the Yorkshire Law Society and Associate Bethany Worthy appointed President of the Scarborough Law Society. David will go on to become President of the Yorkshire Law Society in May 2027.

David’s appointment is a significant recognition of his longstanding commitment to the legal profession and his contribution to supporting businesses, individuals and communities across Yorkshire.
Having dedicated his career to delivering practical, commercially focused legal advice, David has played a key role in the continued growth and success of Ware & Kay. Under his leadership, the firm has strengthened its reputation as one of Yorkshire’s leading independent law firms, providing trusted legal advice across a broad range of services for both individual and commercial clients.
As Vice President, and in preparation for taking on the role of President from May 2027, David is helping to represent and support solicitors across the region, championing the highest professional standards while promoting collaboration, innovation and the continued development of the legal profession.

Bethany Worthy appointed President of Scarborough Law Society
Bethany, an Associate in the Wills & Probate team at Ware & Kay’s Malton office, has been appointed President of the Scarborough Law Society, having been actively involved with the Society and its committee for many years.
The Scarborough Law Society is a long-established organisation that brings together legal professionals from across the local area to network, share knowledge and build lasting professional relationships. Alongside its professional activities, the Society plays an active role in the local community by fundraising for local charities and supporting students pursuing careers in law.
Bethany said: “I have been a member of the Scarborough Law Society for many years and have served on the committee for most of that time. We have a fantastic community of professionals, and during my term as President I hope to grow our membership, expand our programme of events, and continue strengthening the Society’s contribution to the local community.”
