York Ware & Kay Solicitors is delighted to announce the promotion of two valued members of its Wills & Probate team, strengthening the department across its York and Malton offices with immediate effect.
Deborah Gilpin has been appointed Head of Wills & Probate – York. With more than 25 years’ experience having been admitted to the roll in January 2007, Deborah brings a wealth of expertise and in-depth knowledge to her new position. Since joining Ware & Kay in September 2023, she has played a key role in delivering high-quality Wills & Probate services. Deborah will now take responsibility for leading the department in York, developing client relationships, and supporting the continued growth of the office.
Nicholas Edwards has been promoted to Head of Wills & Probate – Malton. Since qualifying in December 2017, Nicholas has demonstrated exceptional skill and commitment. He has quickly established himself as an important member of the team since joining Ware & Kay last year. In his new role, Nicholas will oversee departmental operations in Malton and support the development and progression of team members.
Deborah and Nicholas both bring extensive experience in Wills, Powers of Attorney, Probate Administration, Trusts, and Inheritance Tax Planning. Their client-focused approach centres on understanding each individual’s circumstances and providing clear, practical, and compassionate advice during what can be emotional and challenging times.
Their promotions recognise the significant contribution they make to the Wills & Probate department and their commitment to delivering excellent client service. Under the direction of Sian Foster, Wills & Probate Director, and alongside Laura Schofield, current Head of Wills & Probate in Wetherby, Deborah and Nicholas will take on more active operational roles across all three offices, supporting the continued growth and strength of the department region-wide.
