Ware & Kay Solicitors, with offices in York, Wetherby & Malton, is pleased to announce the appointment of Ryan Butcher as a Paralegal within its Litigation & Dispute Resolution team.

Ryan is recognised for his experience in handling a wide range of litigated cases and providing clients with advice on alternative dispute resolution, particularly in the resolution involving residential landlord and tenant law, breach of contract and debt recovery.  At Ware & Kay, Ryan will expand his focus to advise a variety of property-owning clients including landed estates, farmers and agricultural businesses, as well as commercial and residential landlords, managing possession claims, recovery of rent arrears, dilapidations and property ownership disputes.

Originally from Pontefract in West Yorkshire, Ryan joins Ware & Kay with eight years’ experience in litigation and dispute resolution.  After successfully completing his law degree in 2016, he later obtained a Master’s Degree in Global Commercial Law from Sheffield Hallam University in 2017.

Ryan’s role will see him supporting the team across a broad range of contentious matters, helping clients navigate often complex and sensitive disputes.  He is also focused on continuing to build his practical experience as he works towards his long-term goal of qualifying as a solicitor.

Commenting on his appointment, Ryan said: “I am delighted to be joining Ware & Kay Solicitors and becoming part of such a well-respected Litigation & Dispute Resolution team. I am looking forward to developing my experience further, working closely with clients and supporting them through what are often challenging circumstances, while continuing my journey within the legal profession.”

Johanne Spittle, Director of Litigation & Dispute Resolution, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Ryan to the team. His academic background, combined with his previous experience in the legal sector, means he brings both technical knowledge and a strong client-focused approach. He will be a valuable addition to our growing Litigation & Dispute Resolution department, and we look forward to supporting him as he progresses in his legal career.”

Ryan’s appointment reflects Ware & Kay Solicitors ongoing commitment to investing in talented individuals and strengthening its litigation and dispute resolution services across the region.
