Robert lives in York and is married. His passions outside of work are cycling, sadly not matched by his ability and family history through which he has discovered strong links to York.

Robert was born in Leeds in 1964 and obtained his Law degree from Leeds University before qualifying as a solicitor in 1990. Having initially practised in Wetherby, he developed his skills in Goole for four years. Subsequently returning to work in his home city of Leeds he became a partner managing two branch offices.
Robert having recognised client's dissatisfaction with the traditional court based solutions to family breakdown became a member of Resolution gaining specialist accreditation through them and serving on the regional committee until 2013. During 2006 he qualified as a collaborative family lawyer been among the first wave of solicitors offering this successful alternative to court and has developed a strong track record in the area. In 2011 to further enhance options to his clients he qualified as a family mediator enabling him to offer a full range of bespoke solutions to his clients. He has built up a depth of experience and knowledge over 25 years in Divorce, financial settlements and children cases, dealing with complex, high value and high conflict cases with sound advice and good judgement. From December 2014 he has joined Ware & Kay to provide new and existing clients with bespoke high quality advice and empathetic assistance. Robert has also advised on BBC Radio York on matrimonial matters.
