Experienced Commercial Property Solicitor with a demonstrated history of working in both private practice and industry in England and Bermuda. Skilled in all aspects of commercial property transactions including sales and purchases, portfolio management, lease preparation and negotiation, secured lending and refinancing, business asset sales and purchases and real estate development. Strong legal professional with a finance based MBA from Leeds University.
I qualified as a solicitor in 1986 and initially worked in London before moving back to my home town of Leeds where I worked in large legal practices before transferring to an in-house role as legal manager of a regional airport involving the setting up of their the first in-house legal department.
Having obtained an MBA my work then took me to Bermuda where I was called to the Bermuda Bar and spent over 6 years working as an Attorney in a large international practice. I also became a scuba diving instructor in my spare time owing to my inability to play golf!
The birth of my twins in 2002 brought me back to England where I then taught at the University of Law until 2005. Since then I have worked in-house for Yorkshire Water and more recently back in private practice as a commercial property solicitor.
I have wide ranging experience of all aspects of commercial property matters including sales and purchases, portfolio management, lease preparation and negotiation, secured lending and re-financing, business asset sales and purchases and real estate development.
My clients have ranged from large international organisations through to individuals, small businesses and partnerships as well as charities and educational establishments.
Having been born in Yorkshire I always seek to give clear, practical advice and enjoy getting to know my clients so as to provide tailored advice and guidance for them.
When not working I enjoy spending time with my family, walking, water related activities, holidays and both cooking and eating. I am usually up for a challenge and walked the Yorkshire Three Peaks in aid of a children's cancer charity a couple of years ago.
"Well done you for your part in getting it over the line. I appreciate the increased work involved in this matter due to its complexity and thank you for getting matters back on track."
"May I thank you very much for the work you have done for me and I hope we can work together again one day"
