David was born in Liverpool and educated at Merchant Taylors School, Crosby. He qualified as a solicitor in 1979 and practised in London, the Middle East and St Albans as a corporate and commercial lawyer advising clients on all aspects of their business, including corporate, financial, compliance and commercial issues. He has wide experience of working across borders. He has also been involved in a significant number of major financings, both conventional and shari’ah-based.

He specialises in company and commercial work which includes banking and franchising. He has a wide and varied experience in company and commercial work both nationally and internationally.

After a lifetime of participating in various sports, David's leisure interests now include photography, walking his dog and DIY.
