Martin House Children's Hospice is launching their second Make a Will Month, working with local solicitors Ware and Kay.

During the month of May, you can make or update a Will with Ware & Kay for a reduced fee of £60 for a single simple Will and £110 for a pair. In the York area alone Martin House currently supports over 65 families. To these families with children with a shortened life expectancy the hospice, based in Clifford near Wetherby, provides support and practical help when it really matters.

"Legacies make up more than a quarter of our entire voluntary income, meaning the cost of caring for one in four of our children is covered by gifts left in Wills" explains Alyson Wort from Martin House. "There is no obligation to include Martin House in your Will, but if you do choose to leave a gift to the hospice it would really be very much appreciated."

Martin House helps families across Yorkshire to make the most of the precious time that they have left together, however short that may be. Neil, father to Isabel, says "I am blessed with Isabel, sometimes she just holds out her arms for a cuddle, just like the old days. It makes my heart somersault. Martin House is the only place that I will leave Isabel as I know she is in safe hands. I couldn't manage without the support of Martin House."

Currently, only 3 in 10 people make a Will. The absence of formal arrangements can cause a lot of distress to family members at a time when they are already very upset.
