Commercial law is a hugely varied and complex discipline and often pulls in other areas of law so no two days are the same. I aim to help my clients find a commercial solution to their needs and to explain matters in a straightforward way. Commercial transactions can be daunting and my aim is to make the client feel supported and informed at all stages no matter how big or small the matter.
Originally from the Driffield area I graduated from the University of Cambridge in 1987 with a Masters in Law and subsequently passed the Bar Final exams. Since then I have worked in private practice in London and as legal counsel for a blue chip pharmaceutical company. I was the Legal Director of a small local software company for 13 years a role which took me into contractual discussions in Europe and the Middle East. More recently I have worked with a practice in Hull advising clients on a broad range of commercial , corporate and employment matters.
Away from the office I can be found with my nose in a book , or cooking up a storm in the kitchen as I love to cook for friends. I also have a love of theatre and the arts and am a fair-weather walker. I now live in Cottingham and have 2 grown up daughters and a grumpy cat.
"I just wanted to convey my thanks to you for the outstanding service you provided me recently, and at very short notice too. Your advice was first class, you reacted quickly, and you were clearly in control of all matters at all times. Most importantly, you gave me confidence that we were making the right decisions at a difficult time."
