I aim to achieve practical, cost-effective resolution of disputes for clients, wherever possible without the need for court proceedings, in a friendly and efficient manner.

 Background

Steven hails from Staffordshire and first came to York in 1983 after completing his law degree at Leeds University.

Steven spent 11 years with Sykes, Lee & Brydson, six of them as a partner, before spells with the Law Society in Leamington Spa as a complaints handler, and with Solicitors Indemnity Fund in Bristol, handling claims against solicitors.

Steven returned to Sykes, Lee & Brydson in 2003, becoming a partner in 2006, where he remained until the recent merger with Ware & Kay.

Steven has a wealth of experience in dealing with a wide range of claims and disputes, particularly relating to boundaries, rights of way and use of property, professional negligence, wills and estates and contracts.

In his spare time Steven enjoys sport, particularly football cricket and rugby (both codes) and also live music.
